Sunset Apartment - Arriving in Barbados

On Arrival at Grantley Adams International Airport disembarkation from the aircraft is currently via steps onto the tarmac. This is then followed by a short or not so short walk (depending on where your aircraft has taxied to) into the arrivals hall.

Welcome to Barbados, if this is your first visit then this will be your first experience of the different level of urgency that is placed on certain things, having 500 people in line with only 2 immigration officers processing documentation is not unusual so if you have not yet "chilled out" now would be a good time to get into the swing of things and don't worry - be happy!

Baggage reclaim is also a time for relaxation and to go with the flow, currently you will be approached by "red hats" these are luggage porters and they make their living by ferrying bags from the baggage carousel  to the outside world so they will expect to be paid for the service. Don't feel you have to use the service if you can manage your own luggage a polite "no thank you" will be sufficient, however you  may have to say it several times to different red hats.

When clearing customs you will enter into the outside world where we will be waiting to take you to Sunset Apartment. We will have a board with your name on so keep an eye out for us, if for some unknown reason we can't be there to collect you we will arrange for a Taxi who will of course also have a board with your name on. If you have chosen to collect your hire car from the airport then we will still greet you and you can then follow us back to the apartment.

What follows is a 30-40 minute drive depending on the traffic across the island of Barbados to Sunset Apartment. Once inside the apartment we will give you a brief tour and explain anything that is important, please feel free to ask any question at this point or indeed during the course of your stay.
