Quite simply Barbados is one of the most stunning holiday locations on the
planet. Crystal clear sea, perfect beaches, fabulous views, marvellous weather,
excellent surfing, friendly people, Oistins, Bathsheba, Crane Beach,
Speightstown, flying fish cutters, soused breadfruit. You wouldn't want to miss
any of these things.

Christmas was a wonderful time to be in Barbados! We forgot the dreary English weather and enjoyed the brilliant
sunshine which makes the sea sparkle. Many of the beaches have palms growing on them if you need shade from the mid day sun as I did and spider
crabs scuttle about.
We hired a car and managed to tour most of the island.
The contrast between the east and west coast is fascinating. The east is
reminiscent of the south west coast of England with its huge rollers and
surf (but much warmer!), while the west coast is how one expects tropical
beaches to be. None of the beaches were crowded at this time of year.
It’s difficult to choose a favourite place on the
island. The wild animal reserve is great for getting close to nature. Many
of the animals wander around at will and the monkeys leave during the day
and return in the evening.
St. Lawrence Gap is good for restaurants and night
time activity. Cocomos in St James is great for lunch over looking the
beach. The best supermarket we found was at Warrens. It has a wider choice
than the local supermarket, but don’t try to shop in a hurry! Life moves
at a leisurely pace here.
The apartment has a lovely setting with a great
variety of trees and wildlife. We went to bed to the sound of the
whistling frogs and awoke to birdsong.
Gina and Ian were great hosts and made us feel very
welcome. This was a holiday we will long remember.

Shirley and I found on arrival in Barbados, Ian &
Gina very helpful and informative. The accommodation exceeded our
expectations. Nearing the end of our holiday we wished we had the hire
car for longer to see more of beautiful Barbados!
We found buses to be cheap and cheerful @ $1.50
anywhere on the island, they were however infrequent due to no timetable
and a laid back attitude but we still liked them. The Supermarkets are
well stocked slightly over priced but we have found the same in Brit
holiday resorts elsewhere. we gather that nightlife can be found at St.
Lawrence Gap and in Bridgetown but as we did not go we can't say!
Thanks once more, John & Shirley Thomas, Milton Keynes UK

I used this self contained, self catering apartment in St James, whilst out on business in
the Caribbean. I could not have asked for a more comfortable home from
home environment - clean, light, modern. Everything I needed was
accommodated for including unlimited access to the internet, which allowed
me to work uninterrupted.
Ian and Gina were always obliging and available for any queries about the island, travel, etc, and undoubtedly made my stay
ultimately the smoothest and best I could have wished for with my busy schedule.
I would recommend this accommodation as the ideal for business or leisure use, singles or families, a beautiful, relaxing and
peaceful environment to be in.
Thank you and well done Ian and Gina!

It was our first visit to Ian and Gina’s new apartment.
Up in the hills within ten minutes of arrival a gang of wild green monkeys
came scurrying through our hillside terrace garden. Louisa – our 4 year old watched in awe.
That evening we caught a firefly in a jam jar and watched as it lit up our faces in the dark. How cool is that!
The next day – and for practically the rest of our stay - we had whole sections of beach to ourselves. Alysha – our other
12-year old daughter - went out for a ride with one of the many jet ski riders. The submarine trip was ‘bonus’!
When you’re out and about, don’t forget to explore. Pick cotton or bananas growing all over the island. Do the tourist thing
but enjoy the nature thing too! It’s paradise.
On the home front, check out Ian’s CD collection or even better – book a table in ‘Gina’s Kitchen’. My kids ate food they
would never eat at home!
Go soon – before everybody else discovers the secret!
