Sunset Apartment - Local Perspective
Barbados is still a developing country as well as a
fantastic holiday destination so there are still certain things that need
time to mature and develop fully, having said this generally these issues
fade into insignificance when presented with the positive aspects of the
Island and it's people.
Construction of hotels, apartments, villas, homes,
shops and industrial units continues to increase and the constant
upgrading of the power, water and communication infrastructure coupled
with the battle to keep roads is good condition means travelling across
the Island can be a frustrating experience.
There are no private
beaches in Barbados and generally
they are clean and safe, there will be the odd hawker and seller that may
well approach you but a polite "No thank you" will be sufficient to send
them on their way, however if you decide to buy or utilise any of the
services offered, settle on a price first, but be warned that tomorrow is another day and you will again
be a potential customer.
There are many things to do in Barbados there is
something for everyone, history, culture, art, craft, sport and much more,
of the guest we have had everyone has a different holiday going to
different places having different favourite things to do,
beaches and
restaurants/bars.
I don't think anyone has ever found paradise and although Barbados is a
great place for a vacation, living and working in Barbados is similar to
anywhere else in the world it has it's good points and bad points and life
is just as busy for the average working family.
