Sunset Apartment - Terms of rental

We are committed to making your stay at Sunset Apartment an enjoyable one there are a few points to consider before booking with us. Please read the feedback/comments made by our guests in the guest perspective section of this site.

A non-refundable 30% deposit is payable to confirm the booking and the balance is due 6 weeks prior to arrival unless the booking is made less than 6 weeks in advance in which case the total amount is due when making the booking.

You must have your own travel insurance to cover the unexpected. Barbados is a very safe place to visit and explore but accidents can happen. Staying at Sunset Apartment is at your own risk and any we the owners will not accept any liability for injury or loss sustained whilst staying in the apartment.

Sunset Apartment is located inland in a quiet residential area and although it completely self contained and private it is attached to our home and we are a "normal" everyday working family with kids,  this is an important factor to consider before booking.

Sunset apartment is not really within walking distance of any beach (2 miles) or town (3.5 miles) several of our guests have made it down to the beach or to Holetown but needed a Taxi back!. The nearest store is a local rum shop which has limited food items but plenty of alcohol! so it is essential to hire a car or utilise a taxi service or take the bus.

Sunset Apartment is a strictly no-smoking apartment, smoking is not allowed inside the apartment or within the grounds. With all due respect to smokers it is difficult for a family who have never smoked especially on an island where less than 10% of the population smoke to tolerate the smell of smoke and the effect it has on us. Outside the boundaries of the property is out of our jurisdiction all we ask is that you are considerate to our neighbours and sensitive to the dangers of igniting the surrounding tropical plant life.

It should be noted that the hot water supply relies on a solar powered system so on the rare occasion that the sun does not shine, hot water may be temporarily unavailable. Barbados is still a developing country and from time to time there may also be interruptions to the electricity or water supply these are infrequent and do not last for long, however we do not have the expensive backup systems that a hotel or villa complex may have. The air conditioning is for you comfort during the night, please use responsibly, electricity is the most expensive utility on the island.

The cell phone is provided for your convenience and to help in an emergency, the $10 credit is complementary however if the credit runs out during your stay you can top up at any location displaying the Digicel logo.
