Personal Safety: Barbados is no different to any holiday destination with regard to personal safety and the safety of personal belongings, serious crime is rare but the usual precautions should be taken. Dress Codes: Swimsuits should be for the beach not for restaurants and shopping, topless bathing for women is against the law as is the wearing of any camouflage clothing. (the wearing of such clothing is reserved for the Police and Barbados Defence Force). Evening dining is smart casual but shorts are generally acceptable except in the exclusive restaurants.

Drugs: Are illegal in Barbados and the penalties for possession or trafficking are severe.

Camouflage Clothing: is reserved for the Royal Barbados Police Force and the The Barbados Defense Force, members of the general public are not allowed by law to wear any such clothing.
